Time after time the enemy attempts to deceive us into believing that we aren’t good enough, that we are not mature enough, that we are not like “those Christians”, always trying to bring us into doubting our true identity and authority that Jesus gave His life for us to walk in.
Our Lord Jesus Christ shows us who we are through His Word, and it’s up to you to believe and receive your identity in Him and to act on it. Often, Christians are held back from the depths of Christ that God wants to lead them into because of one thing, fear. Fear is the very thing that makes so many believers doubt their identity and cater to their feelings, causing them to not walk in the authority that Christ paid for them to walk in (2 Tim. 1:7). If the enemy can get into your mind and cause your lips to vocalize the shout of condemnation, he knows you’ve bit on it. You see child, this is how the enemy can see if you are falling into his lies, because if you listen to it and make it truth in your heart it will flow out your mouth. Every day the enemy puts unwanted thoughts and emotions upon us, but that doesn’t make them you. You are the steward of your heart and are able through the power of the Spirit to disarm the lies of the devil by resisting them. In James, the bible talks about the tongue being the only untamable thing, that with it we bless God and curse others. But once we give Holy Spirit leadership over our hearts we receive harmony eventually in our spirit, soul, and body (1 Thess. 5:23). It is where the Spirit that there is freedom (2 Cor. 3:17). The Lord is the only one who can bring peace to a man. If it doesn’t bring light to your life, it’s not from God.
You have been commissioned to be an ambassador of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:20). Before you were born you were set apart, consecrated, and appointed as a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). You are the light of Christ in the world (Matthew 5:14). He is the head and you are the body. The head and the body are one, this is the mystery Paul conveys in Ephesians 5:30-31. We are united with Christ. I want you to get hungry this morning for more of God and to see where God is calling us as His Church (Matthew 5:6). God wants us to step into our authority as sons and daughters of the Kingdom of God and truly believe that we are the vessels of the Kingdom of God (2 Cor. 4:7). So let’s wake up, the kingdom is here, and it lives inside of you (Luke 17:20-21).
Listen to the words of your Lord Jesus Christ in John 14:12- “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” These words are spirit and life, receive them, let them create in you this morning a hunger and thirst for more of God (John 6:63). You beloved, YOU are who Jesus says will do even greater works than what He did. How is this even possible though? The Spirit of God. This is why Jesus said it was better for him to leave so Holy Spirit could lead us, comfort us, and make us the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). Listen, you have the Holy Spirit in you and you have been made righteous through Jesus (Ephesians 1:13).
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Jesus has given us (the church) authority over the enemy and all the works of darkness. There is nothing to fear.
As Christians, our ministries are meant to be led by the Spirit of God, but many people are uncomfortable with His works (Romans 8:14). As Christians led by the Spirit the signs that confirmed Jesus ministry are to also follow us as his brothers and sisters (Mark 16:16-18). Even Jesus told those around him that if they didn’t believe in Him, that they should believe because of the works of God that followed his ministry (John 10:37-38). If you have not seen these things yet in your ministry, don’t let what you haven’t experienced define where the Word of God is calling you. Instead, let the Spirit guide you as you surrender to the Word of God. Our Father is always calling us into deeper revelations of the kingdom and will continue to as long as we live. These signs show that Gods Kingdom has come, is here, and that our Lords cross has defeated the powers of Satan and that his resurrection confirms He is Messiah, Lord, and our Savior. Paul said by this people would not trust in man but in the power of God (1 Cor. 2:4-5). Let these scriptures spring board you into intimacy with God and show you what your called to. The Word should always create in you a hunger & thirst for more of God. Papa God is smiling at you right now, asking for you to trust Him and His Word to take you from faith to faith as you choose to believe Jesus and His Word (Romans 1:17). If you read it in scripture, you are invited to step into it. So take risks, get in uncomfortable positions for sharing Jesus, that is why you have been given the Spirit. He will never lead you to shame.
Child, you were chosen before the foundations of the world to walk holy and blameless. (Ephesians 1:4) Christ has made you a son or daughter. You have made him Lord over your life, now it is time for you to step into your authority as his child and to step into what he says. You are the light of the Lord (Ephesians 5:8). I assure you that if your willing to believe the truth and step into your identity God will show up (James 1:22). Holy Spirit is your Lord, partner, and friend. He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Let God take you from glory to glory as you step out in faith, take risks, and watch God move as you place your identity in Him (2 Cor. 3:18). You child, were made to preach the Kingdom of Christ to glorify Jesus as you walk with God in your identity for His glorification. It is Christ in you that the world needs to see and are dying to see, give him your heart, put on the word by faith in prayer, that is Christian communion through the word (Colossians 1:27). He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). You have been commissioned; now go and proclaim the truth beloved. Shine as sons and daughters of God (Matthew 5:16).
Pray with me, “Papa God I thank you for Jesus. It is because of you that I have life. Father you love me so much and have made me your son/daughter. Lord I believe your truth and have been born again and I thank you for breathing on me and coming to live with me through Holy Spirit. Lord thank you for your assurance that I am your child. Father, I ask that you look at all the things around me and by your grace pour out divine boldness into me and your children to proclaim the gospel of your kingdom. Father I thank you right now, and I receive it by faith. Holy Spirit I thank you for leading me deeper into the Father through the finished work of Christ. I present myself to you as a living sacrifice, presenting myself as your instrument of righteousness. Thank you for using me Lord. I put you on by faith right now and by your power walk in the authority you have given me. Thank you Papa. Amen.”
