Drawing Near

The Father has spoken through his Son (Heb. 1:2). He has made the way (John 14:6). We now have an eternal high priest forever interceding for us who has done what no priest could ever do, by bringing his blood into heaven and putting it on our mercy seat, securing us eternal redemption (Heb. 9:12). We have a high priest who is always for us, and he is speaking on our behalf, as well as his blood is speaking over us the blessings of God (Heb. 12:24).

The blood is precious, the blood is powerful, the blood takes away all sin, and in the blood is life for the believer (John 1:29/John 6:53/1 Peter 1:19). Only through the blood offered by our mighty high priest are we invited to come boldly as sons and daughters into the Holy Place.

We must not overlook what the Son of God has done and the blood of the covenant in which it was all established and finished in (Heb. 10:29). By faith we apply the blood, in which we give Holy Spirit control by faith to apply the perfected work of Christ (Heb. 10:14). He offered up his perfect, sanctified body in complete obedience for our offenses, and was delivered up for our justification where he carried the blood into heaven and perfected the way for every believer to live and worship by the Spirit of God (Rom. 4:26).

Hebrews 10:19-22 “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

And, Hebrews 12:12-13 “Therefore lift up your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.”

Also, James 4:7-10 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”

Because of what Christ has done we are invited to draw near, with the knowledge of what our high priest has accomplished for us, knowing that when we come to Jesus in faith the Holy Spirit washes us and removes the sin from within our members, allowing us to share in the life of Christ which was opened up for us when Jesus’ flesh was torn and his divine blood flowed out for you and I’s healing, to kill the hostility of man (Eph. 2:14-16)

Through drawing near our mind is renewed by the truth of his word, and we are washed by that word, to be presented holy and blameless, beyond reproach (Rom. 12:2/Eph. 5:26). God is calling you through the Holy Spirit by the finished work of Christ to come to him, to get alone with him, and to clean out the hostility of the soul. He wants you to have peace within, to live an abundant life (John 10:10). The Lord wants to apply the finished, powerful work of Christ through his blood to you. You are no longer a slave to the bloodline of Adam, you are the bloodline of Christ. A new creation (2 Cor. 5:17).

Any frustration, any sin, any hypocrisy, anything at war within you he wants to take, heal, and bring peace into your soul. How he desires to show you the truth. Who you are is only found in him. Don’t push the warfare under the rug and settle for things that momentarily feel good, only drown out the screaming within. Let him take it and begin to heal it. (Romans 6-8)

I pray over everyone who reads this that the Lord would fill you with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you would be revealed who you truly are. I pray over you a hunger and thirst for more of God. I ask that the Holy Spirit would call you to be alone with him and his word, allowing it to cut off what is not from God and to place in you all that Christ has paid for. I pray over you also that God would give you the desire to search out what Christ paid for on the cross and what it means for you now. He wants you to become love child, you are his image into the world through the Holy Spirit. You are the light of the world. Christ in you is the hope of glory. Let your Father speak to you and give you freedom and lead you to the truth in all things.
